Exams are all stressful; although right from your Montessori days, you have been attending assessment tests. They turn out even more stressful, when they are going to alter your life altogether and decide your destiny. The hours you spend inside the examination hall plus the number of days you put in serious efforts to crack the exam also contribute towards the achievement of your goal. People around you may tell you that luck is the only factor that determines a top rank in the competitive examinations. Well, that is a given. Hard work, perseverance, time management and smart work are all effective indicators for scoring better ranks in any exams, let alone prestigious ones.
So, start your SSC CGL 2018 exam preparation now with this 100 days study plan!

Study Plan for SSC CGL 2018

Apart from reading the best references books for SSC CGL Tier 1, the successful candidates go through a specific time table for paving their ways to eminent positions. You cannot hit the nail on the head, if you give each section a straight away three-week time period and start preparing. Such study plans are of no use, as there are higher chances that you end up totally forgetting things you have studied in the very first week (that is, when you check on the progress later). So, allot time for each section and prepare accordingly. Always keep in mind that each section is important even though there is no sectional cut-off. A nine-hour, serious preparation per day focusing on every section, would land you better scores. However, a full-time employee may not be able to follow a nine-hour schedule. In those cases, he has to put in more hours over weekends and holidays to compensate the loss. It is as the famous quote of Thomas A. Edison goes, “There is no substitute for Hard Work.”

Before gearing up for the 100 Day Study Plan, you must draw a clear cut between “what to study” and “what not to study.” A journey to 100 days of hard work should begin with this single step.
Here is the preparation strategy you are advised to follow:

Daily Nine Hour Study Plan

Section

Hours of Study Required

Duration for Revision

Quantitative Aptitude

1 Hr 45 Minutes

15 Minutes (Focus mainly on formula and short cut methods)

General Intelligence& Reasoning

1 Hr 30 Minutes

30 Minutes

English Comprehension

General Awareness

An hour of practicing previous years’ question papers or taking mock tests is mandatory. This would boost up your self confidence and also help you understand your weak points very well.

Also, the said study plan may not be applicable for every candidate. This is meant for an average candidate who starts preparing only 100 days before the examination. As each one’s potential and caliber are different, the allotted hours of study for each section vary from person to person. Understand where you lag behind and begin working systematically.

Please do not restrict yourself from writing down important concepts, formulae, equations etc. Taking down notes fetch you good marks. It helps you memorize everything you learn; and also helps to go back to a specific lesson easily whenever required. Mind mapping is another similar technique for recalling all that you tend to forget.

In the above roster, certain portions under each section might seem overlapping and you would feel bored going over similar stuff again and again. However, it is highly recommended that those segments should be given more prominence. Keep revising the portions even though you are done with it. For instance, you might have done with General Awareness Section by Day 20 (as per the given time schedule). Avoiding going through the GK section and ignoring it after Day 21 is not advisable. So, it is better to browse through the already covered topics so that you can excel at the respective section very easily.

Once first 40 days are over, the same time schedule can be followed for another 40 days.
During the remaining 20 days, all that you should do is practice as many question papers and mock tests as you can. An hourly glimpse of the notes in the last few days before the exam is also a must task.
Work hard till the 100th day lest you fail in the examination.
