UPPSC RO/ARO 2016 Exam Cancelled : Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has cancelled the UPPSC Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer Preliminary Exam 2016 due to the paper leak for the same. Commission will hold re- preliminary exam for the both papers tentatively on 03 May 2020.
According to the short notification released by the Commission, UPPSC Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer Preliminary Exam 2016 was conducted on 27 November 2016 in the 21 districts across the State. There was a allegation of the Paper Leak for the same exam and now after the final report by the concerned agency, commission has decided to cancel the exam.
Three years after the paper leak, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Tuesday decided to cancel and hold re-exam of the preliminary papers of review officer/assistant review officer (preliminary) exams, 2016. Those who were absent in the exams would also be allowed to appear in both the papers, said officials. The candidates were competing for 361 posts. Around 2.04 lakh out of 3.85 lakh registered candidates had appeared in the exams held in examination centres spread across 21 districts on November 27, 2016. However, Hindi question paper with solutions started making rounds in WhatsApp an hour before the exams in the second session. Later an FIR was filed in Hazratganj police station after the order of Lucknow court on November 30.
UPPSC, secretary, Jagdish said, “Following this, CB-CID was entrusted with the task of probing the paper leak episode. The agency submitted a final report in court on September, 2018. However, special judicial magistrate, CB-CID, quashed the report on January 1, 2020 and directed the agency for re-investigation.”
He said, “In view of the court order, we constituted a two-member panel who recommended that re-investigation will lead to postponement of result for an indefinite period, therefore, it has been decided to cancel the previous papers and hold re-examination. The candidates who had applied need not apply again and those who have registered can take the exam again.”
