Before we go deeper into this topic, let’s see what is the full form of CPCT?
CPCT stands for Computer Proficiency Test and Certification which is called कंप्यूटर दक्षता प्रमाणीकरण परीक्षा in Hindi.
What is CPCT?
As per order C 3 – 15/2014/1/3 dated 26 February 2015, by MP Government, for posts in various departments of the state government where a working knowledge of computers and typing skills are basic requirements, it is mandatory for the candidates to have such knowledge in order to get the job.
To check the computer skills of the applicant, the MP Government has decided to conduct a Computer Proficiency Test and Certification (CPCT).
The CPCT standardized the assessment of the applicant’s computer skills for recruitment to various positions in the government sector and ensured fair and transparent evaluation of all candidates.
CPCT exam is conducted twice a year and it will have objective type questions and typing tests (both Hindi and English).
Objectives of CPCT?
Computers and digital recorders are constantly replacing old paper-based working environments in offices. It has become an essential service provider for day work.
A computer has also become an essential tool for employees working in various clerical/office assistant positions in departments or agencies under the MP Government.
Therefore it has become necessary for the state government to select only those applicants who have basic knowledge of computers.
The MP government has introduced the CPCT exam to provide a fixed and widely accepted standard for assessing the computer proficiency of the candidates. The main objectives of conducting the CPCT exam are as follows:
- To develop computer and typing skills within the students as per standards. Which they can later use for their career growth.
- To develop a transparent and fairly designed system for assessing the capabilities of candidates during recruitment in various government departments and agencies.
- There are many computer courses and certifications to obtain the basic computer proficiency certificate required to get a government job. This confuses many candidates and they often do not understand which course to take or not. Keeping this in mind, the MP government implemented a system that is uniform. CPCT removes the requirements of all those various courses and certifications.
- Now after passing the CPCT exam, the student can apply to all the various vacant positions in the government office which requires basic computer skills and comes under CPCT.
- Support all government departments and agencies in the recruitment of candidates at various levels as per the requirements.
